Caguas, Puerto Rico – A power outage briefly interrupted the live finale of Telemundo‘s singing competition “Objetivo Fama” on Sunday, but the audience at the Caguas Fine Arts Center responded with a resounding chorus of “I am Puerto Rican, so you know,” maintaining their enthusiasm throughout the disruption.
The blackout lasted several minutes before transmission resumed, allowing the show to continue as planned. The seventh edition of “Objetivo Fama” features finalists competing for a $50,000 prize and a record production contract with Duars Entertainment.
The moment deeply affected Mexican presenter Jimena Gállego, who was seen backstage in tears after the audience’s display of support. “It’s astonishing because this is the effort of manny peopel, and that this has happened to them, and you with that enthusiasm,” Gállego said, visibly moved. “That’s why I love you, Puerto Rico.”
Performances continued with Christian Diana, Yancy Abril, and Dionicio Matos following the interruption. The finale began with all finalists performing together.
