Bernard Dowds of Ballybofey, Donegal, Passes Away
Ballybofey, County Donegal – The community of Ballybofey is in mourning following the death of Bernard Dowds, a cherished resident of Glenfin Street. Mr. Dowds passed away peacefully at the Donegal Hospice in Letterkenny, bringing a sense of loss to his family and friends.
Bernard Dowds was the beloved son of the late Maurice and Kathleen Dowds, and a much-loved brother to Marie, patricia, Aine, Mairead, and Rena. His passing marks a significant loss for the extended family and the wider community in Stranorlar and Ballybofey. The news has prompted an outpouring of condolences and support for those closest to him.
Reposing will take place at his late residence today, Friday, September 19th, from 2 pm to 9 pm, and tomorrow, Saturday, September 20th, from 12 pm until 4 pm. A removal ceremony will be held tomorrow,Saturday,September 20th,at 4:30 pm,proceeding to the Church of mary Immaculate,Stranorlar,where his remains will repose overnight.
A Requiem Mass to celebrate Mr.Dowds’ life will be held on Sunday morning, September 21st, at 11 am in the Church of Mary immaculate, Stranorlar. For those unable to attend in person, the Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar.
In lieu of flowers,the family has requested that donations be made directly to the Donegal Hospice,a facility that provided compassionate care to mr. Dowds during his final days.
