Ben Platt to Headline 10 Performances at Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theater
Ben Platt, teh tony Award-winning star of Dear evan Hansen and Parade, will return to the stage for a limited 10-performance engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Performances begin December 13 and run through December 22.
Center Theatre Group (CTG) is presenting the event, building on Platt’s successful concert at The Palace on Broadway last year. The Ahmanson engagement promises a special holiday experience, with the potential for surprise guest appearances each night. Platt’s performance is anticipated to draw meaningful audiences, solidifying his status as a leading figure in contemporary musical theatre.
CTG Brindell & Milton gottlieb Artistic Director Snehal Desai stated, “When you think of the very best in musical theatre, it simply doesn’t get any better than ben Platt, whose stage presence and charisma make him one of the seminal performers of his generation. Plus, you never know who is going to join him on stage each night! It promises to be the holiday event of the season.”
Platt originated the role of Evan Hansen in Dear evan Hansen, earning a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance-the youngest recipient in the organization’s history. He later appeared in the film adaptation alongside Julianne Moore and Amy Adams.He received a second Tony nomination for his portrayal of Leo Frank in the recent revival of Parade.
Beyond his stage work, Platt has released three albums: Sing to Me instead (2019), Reverie (2021), and Honeymind (2024). He also co-wrote, produced, and starred in the award-winning film Theater Camp, released by Searchlight Pictures.
