Men’s Tennis Concludes Fall Season with competitive Showing at Pelican Bay Invitational
MIAMI, FL – Boston College Men’s Tennis wrapped up its fall schedule at the Pelican Bay Invitational, facing off against Barry University in a series of challenging singles adn doubles matches on November 18, 2023. The Eagles demonstrated resilience against a strong Barry team,with several players securing victories and gaining valuable experience as they prepare for the spring season.
The invitational provided a crucial opportunity for Boston College to assess its players’ development and refine strategies before the dual-match season begins in January. The results from this weekend will inform coaching decisions and individual training plans, aiming to build momentum for a prosperous spring campaign in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
In singles play, Matthew Overwhelmed defeated his Barry opponent 7-6 (7-3), 6-1. Luke Levanat also secured a win for the Eagles, besting hayze Loop 6-4, 6-2. However, Barry claimed victories in the remaining singles matches, with Leo Caill defeating Aidan Pack 6-3, 6-0, Staniss De Samucewicz overcoming Lukas Rais 7-6 (7-5), 6-2, and Roberto Campoverde topping Liam O’Leary 6-2, 6-4.
The doubles competition saw Barry dominate, winning all three matches. Thomas Machado and Cooper Dillon defeated Liam O’Leary and Matvey Greschner 8-7 (7-4). Matthew Carioscia and Matthew Overwhelmed fell to their Barry counterparts 7-4. Adam Lynch and Stanislas de Samucewicz secured an 8-6 victory over Luke Levanat and Lukas Rais,while Antonin Chapuis and hayze Loop defeated Aidan Pack and Mai Gao 8-5.
