Title: Ballaro, Abrahamson Tabbed NFHCA All-Region III

COLORADO​ SPRINGS, Colo.Ithaca College field hockey ⁤players Eliza Ballaro and Reese‍ Abrahamson have been recognized for their outstanding seasons,earning all-Region III honors from the National Field Hockey coaches Association (NFHCA) announced December 3. Ballaro was named to the first team,while Abrahamson secured a spot on ⁢the second team.

The All-Region selections⁤ highlight the remarkable talent within the Liberty League and division III field hockey, serving as a⁣ key step in identifying All-American candidates. These awards acknowledge the players’ contributions to their teams’ success and their individual performances throughout the season. The ⁤NFHCA will continue to announce postseason accolades, including Regional Players of the Year on December 11, All-american teams on December 16, and the National Player of ⁢the Year on december 18.

Ballaro, ⁢a senior midfielder and‍ team ⁤captain, started all 19 games for the Bombers, finishing the season with four goals‌ and three assists for 11 points – the fourth-highest total on the team.She scored two game-winning goals and demonstrated impact on both offense and defense. This recognition follows her earlier selection to the Liberty league First Team.

Abrahamson, a senior defender and ⁤captain, appeared in all 19 games, anchoring a defensive unit that ranked⁢ eighth nationally in goals against average. Ithaca recorded nine shutouts during‌ its 12-7 campaign. Throughout her career, Abrahamson played in 67‌ contests⁢ with 39⁣ starts, earning First Team All-Liberty League honors this season, along with All-academic recognition for⁣ the third consecutive year.She ⁣is ⁣a four-time NFHCA Academic Squad honoree and was also named to ‌the⁣ NFHCA Senior Team.
