Bergamo, Italy - Atalanta has appointed Raffaele Palladino as its new head coach, the club announced today. The move comes swiftly after the dismissal of Ivan Juric following a challenging start to the Serie A season.
Palladino, who previously managed Monza and Fiorentina, has signed a two-year contract with La Dea.Atalanta currently sits 13th in the Serie A standings with six points from eight matches,including a recent 3-0 defeat to Sassuolo. Despite a strong showing in the Champions League-earning seven points from four games-the club opted for a change in leadership. Palladino will be tasked with revitalizing Atalanta’s league form and building upon its European momentum.
He will be joined by assistant manager Stefano Citterio, coaching staff federico Peluso, fitness coaches Fabio Corabi and Nicola Riva, and match analysts Andrea Ramponi and Mattia Casella. Several existing staff members-Cristian Raimondi, Marco Savorani, Sabino Oliva, Marcello Iaia, Stefano Brambilla, and Andrea Vigni-will also remain with the team.
Palladino’s first test will be a challenging one: an away match against defending Serie A champions Napoli at the Stadio diego Armando Maradona on November 22.He last held a coaching position with Fiorentina at the conclusion of the previous season.
