Asthma and⁢ Allergy Foundation Launches “Give ‍the Gift of breath” Christmas Appeal

ScotlandS only dedicated asthma charity, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation (AAF), today launched its 2025‌ Christmas fundraising Campaign, ”Give the Gift of Breath⁣ This ‌Christmas,” ⁢aiming ⁢to raise at least £10,000. ‌The appeal comes at a critical time, as the ⁢charity seeks to maintain vital support services for the 23,645 children, young people, adults, and families across⁢ Scotland‍ living with asthma and⁣ severe allergies.

The AAF has navigated a challenging year,⁣ continuing to deliver essential services thanks to ⁣the commitment of its trustees,⁤ ambassadors, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and ‌partners. Funds raised will directly support urgent⁣ one-to-one assistance for those ⁣battling asthma, families struggling with ⁢childhood asthma, and the delivery of lifesaving‌ education and management sessions. The campaign will also ⁢ensure helplines and⁢ emergency support remain available throughout the busy festive period, and provide essential resources for AAF staff and volunteers.

“As the health system‌ becomes⁤ increasingly overstretched during the festive season, our role becomes even more ⁤critical,” ⁣said Martina Chukwuma-Ezike, Chief ‍Executive of ⁣the ⁤Asthma⁤ and Allergy Foundation. “Families battling uncontrolled asthma and severe⁤ allergies⁢ need expert⁤ support to prevent another terrifying asthma attack or ⁤severe allergic reaction, and we must ⁤be here for them.”

donations ⁤will help the AAF continue ⁣its work in providing crucial support. Every contribution, regardless of size, will ‌help someone breathe easier and improve their quality of life.

Since 2009, the Asthma ⁣and Allergy Foundation has positively impacted ‍the lives of over ‍111,000 individuals with asthma and their families through education, community projects, and direct support, reducing hospital admissions⁣ and empowering people⁤ to manage their conditions with confidence.
