Rosario Hosts Inaugural Argentine High Performance Games
Rosario, Argentina – The first edition of the Argentine High Performance Games (Jadar) commenced today in Rosario, marking a historic moment for both conventional adn adapted sports in the country. Running from Tuesday, November 9th to Sunday, November 14th, the event is poised to become a cornerstone of national Olympic and Paralympic advancement.
The Jadar Games represent the first fully inclusive and federal competition of its kind in Argentina, organized through a collaboration between the Argentine Olympic Committee (COA), the Argentine paralympic committee (COPAR), and the Organizing Committee of Jadar Rosario 2025. With 58 sports disciplines officially recognized, the Games aim to foster growth and visibility for Olympic and Paralympic athletes nationwide, and are planned to be held every four years at the start of a new Olympic cycle if triumphant.
Of the 58 disciplines, 41 are olympic and 17 are Paralympic, with 10 sports offering simultaneous competitions for both Olympic and Paralympic athletes. The Olympic sports included are: Chess, athletics, badminton, handball, beach handball, basketball, 3×3 basketball, Judo, karate, wrestling, swimming, artistic swimming, aquatic pole, paddle, artistic skate, race skate, modern pentathlon, rowing, rugby 7, squash, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, sports shooting, archery, triathlon, volleyball, beach volleyball, and wushu Kungfu.
Paralympic sports featured are: athletics, wheelchair basketball, Boccia, for booting, for cycling, equestrian, football for the blind, for hastairs, for judo, for swimming, for rowing, rugby in wheelchairs, for taekwondo, for table tennis, for sports shot, for triathlon, and volleyball sitting.
While equestrian training and artistic skate skills began Monday, the official opening ceremony marked the formal start of the majority of competitions today. Saturday, November 13th, will see peak activity with 36 disciplines running concurrently. The Jadar Games will conclude on Sunday, November 14th, with 25 disciplines awarding medals and a closing ceremony.
