Ann Arbor Braces for Country Invasion as Morgan Wallen Announces big House Concerts
ANN ARBOR, MI – Morgan Wallen is bringing his “One Thing At A Time” tour to the University of Michigan‘s Michigan Stadium, commonly known as The Big House, on July 24 and 25, sparking a mix of excitement and apprehension among Ann Arbor residents. The announcement marks a significant shift in the type of artist typically performing in the traditionally indie and option-leaning collage town.
The concerts are expected to draw a large crowd, similar to those seen for Zach Bryan and John Mayer in September, according to Jeff Pfeiffer, a spokesperson for TheRide, Ann Arbor’s bus service. While some locals expressed unfamiliarity with Wallen – mirroring the reaction to Bryan’s earlier performance – many anticipate a vibrant cultural blend and a boost to the local economy. University of Michigan students and Michigan football season ticket holders will have early access to presale tickets.
Wallen’s selection as a performer was viewed favorably by University of Michigan Athletic Director Alan Haller, who said the country star is “going to check a lot of boxes with (what) the university is looking for.”
Presale for the July 24 concert begins at 10 a.m. on November 5, and for the July 25 concert at noon. University of Michigan students and michigan football season ticket holders will receive presale access to both shows starting at 10 a.m. on November 6. Public on-sale tickets will be released at 10 a.m. on November 7.Fans can register for presale access at https://StillTheProblem.com.
