PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was briefly sidelined during their game against the Buffalo Bills on Monday after a hard tackle by Bills defensive end Joey Bosa resulted in a visible facial injury. The 41-year-old Rodgers underwent evaluation in the team’s medical tent before returning to the game.
The incident occurred on the opening play of the third quarter, with the Steelers trailing. Bosa’s hit caused rodgers to fumble, recovered by Buffalo cornerback Christian Benford, who then ran 17 yards for a touchdown. Rodgers, already playing with a fractured left wrist, was down on the Acrisure Stadium turf before slowly rising and heading to the sideline, shaking his right hand.
rodgers spent approximately ten minutes being assessed in the medical tent and emerged with a bandage on his nose, rejoining the offense for Pittsburgh’s subsequent series. During his absence, backup quarterback mason Rudolph entered the game and threw an interception, which the bills capitalized on with a touchdown pass from Josh Allen to Keon Coleman.
The injury and brief departure of Rodgers adds another layer of concern for the Steelers, who are relying on the veteran quarterback despite his pre-existing wrist injury. His continued availability will be crucial as Pittsburgh attempts to remain competitive in a challenging AFC North division.
