Tipping Point IVF Triplets: Contestant’s Amazing Win

A couple from Chorley, Lancashire, have welcomed triplets after using prize money won on the ITV quiz show Tipping Point to fund IVF treatment. Jamie and Hayley McEvoy, both 30, became parents in June 2025, a development made possible by the £3,000 Jamie won on the show, which was filmed three years prior but aired last week.

Jamie McEvoy discovered that his latest round of IVF had failed on the morning of his Tipping Point filming date. “At the time we didn’t think we could afford another round,” he said, according to the Mirror. He initially intended to apply the winnings to pursue further IVF cycles in the hope of providing a sibling for their one-year-old son, Otis.

The couple ultimately spent £30,000 on multiple rounds of IVF treatment before Hayley McEvoy received a positive pregnancy test via a home test in late 2024. A subsequent scan three weeks later revealed she was carrying triplets. Hayley described the moment she learned of the multiple pregnancy as initially frightening. “Obviously I was only expecting one but the nurse’s face dropped and she looked grey as she said there were three,” she told the BBC. “They were very negative as they were warning they could be born premature or with defects – it was very morbid.”

Ben Shephard, the host of Tipping Point, expressed his joy at the news, stating he was “so so thrilled” for the family, as reported by the BBC. Jamie McEvoy described his experience on the show as “fantastic,” noting that Shephard made the contestants feel confident during filming in Bristol. He added that he had never appeared on television before.

The McEvoy’s story highlights the financial challenges faced by couples undergoing IVF treatment. The couple’s journey underscores the significant cost associated with fertility treatments, with their total expenditure reaching £30,000.
