Anticyclonic Conditions and Cloud Cover
The majority of the country will experience stable anticyclonic weather, with medium to high cloud cover in the western peninsular region. The rest of the area will see mostly clear or lightly clouded skies. Low clouds may form along the north coast of the Canary Islands and the northwest coastlines of Alborán, potentially bringing mist and coastal fog.
Afternoon conditions will evolve with abundant cloudiness, bringing showers and storms, potentially accompanied by hail and intense gusts in various interior areas. The Cantabrian area, the Iberian system, the high-medium Ebro area, along with plateaus and interiors of the east and southeast peninsular region, could experience strong storms. Localized areas in Extremadura and especially near the High Ebro may see very strong storms. “Calima” or haze will be present in the mid-peninsular region and the Eastern Canary Islands.
Temperature Forecast
Maximum temperatures are likely to climb along the Cantabrian coast, the Gulf of Cádiz, and the eastern and northeastern extremes of the peninsula. Temperatures will drop in the northern half of the Atlantic, the Strait, and the western Alborán region. Few changes are anticipated elsewhere. Temperatures are expected to exceed 34–36 degrees Celsius across most of the southern half, the northeast peninsula, the northern plateau, and interior points of the Cantabrian region. The northeast depressions and large portions of the southern Atlantic region could see temperatures reaching 38–40 degrees Celsius.

Minimum temperatures will decline in western Galicia and parts of the Southeast. The rest of the Peninsula will see a rise, particularly in the southwest and north-central regions, where increases could be notable. The islands will see minimal change.

Winds from the east will blow in the Strait, while the Canary Islands will experience north winds. The northern coast of Galicia will see north and east winds, which will be strong at intervals. Elsewhere, winds will be generally loose, mainly from the west in the Atlantic aspect and from the east in the Mediterranean area.
Looking Ahead to Friday
Friday will also be marked by elevated temperatures. Andalusia, Aragon, Catalonia, and Extremadura will remain under an orange alert for high temperatures. Storms and locally strong showers are possible inland across the peninsula. Maximum temperatures will be noticeably high across most of the southern half, the northeast, the northern plateau, and the northwest and Cantabrian regions.
