THON’s ‘No Hair Don’t Care’ Fundraiser Set for February 18 | Onward State

by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor

Student volunteers at Penn State University will be shaving their heads on Wednesday, February 18, as part of the annual THON fundraising event, “No Hair Don’t Care.” The event, scheduled to run from 11 a.m. To 4 p.m. In HUB 129, aims to raise awareness and indicate solidarity with children facing hair loss due to cancer treatment.

Participants in “No Hair Don’t Care” each donate $10, with half of the donation credited to an Independent Dance Marathon (IDC), organization, or committee of their choice. The tradition is a longstanding component of THON, the university’s 46-hour dance marathon benefiting the Four Diamonds Fund, which supports childhood cancer research and families facing the disease.

Free headbands will be provided to all students who participate in the head-shaving event, according to organizers. THON 2026 is scheduled to begin three days after the “No Hair Don’t Care” event, continuing the university’s commitment to fighting childhood cancer.
