Lake Como, Italy – Anna Sheng and joe Baker cemented their love with a stunning destination wedding on Lake Como, showcasing a series of bespoke looks designed by Thom Browne. The couple, who first connected after meeting through a dating app, exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, a location they fell in love with during a previous Italian getaway.
The couple’s romance blossomed over seven years, navigating anna’s work with Marc Jacobs that frequently took her to Italy. A pivotal moment arrived during a trip to the Dolomites after Joe visited Anna in Venice.”After hiking and row boating around Lago Di Braies together, I realized I was falling in love with him,” Anna recalled. Their engagement, proposed on March 18, 2024, in their pajamas and mouthguards after watching a reality show, preceded a month-long separation for Joe’s work on the film The President’s Cake in Iraq. An engagement party hosted by Joe’s mother, Veronica Chen baker, in Singapore, followed, complete with a local jazz band and traditional Yam Sengs.
For their wedding weekend, the couple embraced a shared love of travel and a desire to create an immersive experience for their guests. Multiple custom Thom Browne ensembles were central to the celebration, reflecting the couple’s creative backgrounds and personal style. “Italy has always been special to us; Joe would come to visit me in Italy throughout our relationship, and we would take thes opportunities to explore the country,” Anna shared.”On one of these visits, Joe and I fell in love with Bellagio and the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni. We stayed at the Serbelloni over a weekend and had never seen views of Como like that before. Ever since that stay, I thought it would be perfect for an intimate, but beautiful wedding.” The couple collaborated with Greg Kwiat of Kwiat to design Anna’s custom canary diamond engagement ring.
