Ta’ Qali, Malta - November 17, 2023 – A planned display of flares by Polish football supporters during the Euro 2024 qualifying match against Malta on Friday devolved into a pointed protest against the Polish Football Association (PZPN), prompting criticism and calls for change. The coordinated action, featuring a red and white checkered pattern created with flares, was widely interpreted as a presentation of discontent with the current leadership and direction of Polish football.
