Barcelona Coach Praises team’s “motorcycle-Like” Counterattack in Champions League Victory
Barcelona handball coach Carlos Ortega lauded his team’s blistering first-half performance following a Champions League win, describing their counterattacks as moving with teh speed and precision of “a motorcycle.” Despite a less dominant second half, the victory keeps barça at the top of group B, though their position remains subject to the outcomes of upcoming matches involving other contenders.
Ortega emphasized the effectiveness and pace of his players in the initial period, stating, “In the first half the team was on a motorcycle, with an incredible counterattack. The defense was good,but not breathtaking.” he acknowledged a dip in performance after halftime, noting, “In the second half we let ourselves go.” the coach has already addressed this inconsistency with the team, showing them analysis from Luis Frade, reinforcing the need for sustained focus. ”The first half was incredible, but in the second we have to be more focused,” Ortega reflected.
Currently,Barcelona leads Group B with 18 points,tied with Magdeburg,who have played one fewer game. Wisla Plock and Szeged follow with 12 and 10 points respectively, also with games in hand. PSG and GOG are further back with 6 points each, while Eurofarm Pelister and RK Zagreb trail with 4 and 2 points.
