John Turturro stars as a veteran pickpocket navigating a changing Fresh York City in Noah Segan’s crime thriller, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on January 27th. The film, also featuring Steve Buscemi and Giancarlo Esposito, centers on Harry, an aging thief who finds himself in a desperate situation after stealing from the wrong person.
The film follows Harry as he attempts to rectify a theft that escalates into a high-stakes race against time. According to a synopsis from IMDb, Harry is forced into a mission to reclaim stolen goods. Principal photography for The Only Living Pickpocket in New York began in New York City in April 2025. Giancarlo Esposito, Tatiana Maslany, Victoria Moroles, and Will Price joined the cast shortly thereafter. Jamie Lee Curtis was later added to the ensemble, as reported in January 2026.
The cast also includes Karina Arroyave, Avalon Stone, Delaney Grace Coyle, Rob Brown, and Ethan Herschenfeld. The film runs for 88 minutes and features cinematography by Sam Levy and a score by Gary Lionelli. It had its international premiere out of competition at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival on February 20th.
