AI Ushers‍ in New Era for South Korean Farms with IoCrops‘ ‘Ation‘ System

JINCHEON,⁢ SOUTH CHUNGCHEONG PROVINCE – South Korean agricultural technology firm ‍IoCrops is rapidly transforming domestic farms into ‍”scenes from science fiction movies,” deploying artificial intelligence and ‌automation to ⁣boost yields⁢ and expand globally. The ⁢company’s ‍human resources management solution, ‘Ation,’ is ⁣currently being⁤ piloted by agricultural ⁣corporation Palm Farm to monitor worker ⁣harvest⁣ yields, marking a ‍significant step⁢ toward fully automated farming practices.

IoCrops⁣ isn’t simply optimizing ‌existing methods; it’s building the future⁤ of agriculture. ⁤The company ⁣operates 20,000 pyeong (approximately 6.6 acres) of⁣ its own farms across South Korea – specializing in‌ tomatoes in⁣ Jincheon, and cucumbers in Sangju‌ and boryeong ⁢-‌ using these sites ⁢as living laboratories to refine its⁣ technology and build⁤ expertise. This push towards ‌automation comes as the agricultural‌ sector faces increasing‌ labor ⁤shortages and demands for greater efficiency. IoCrops aims to⁣ address these challenges by providing ⁤affordable sensor technology to smaller farms‌ while simultaneously developing unmanned solutions for large-scale global operations.

Beyond‌ workforce management, IoCrops is actively developing automatic‌ harvesting capabilities, with a ⁢target commercialization date of 2027 for cucumbers due to their rapid growth cycle. The company is already expanding ⁤its reach beyond south Korea, having recently secured contracts with two ⁣small and medium-sized farms in North America and consistently participating in ⁤the ‘GreenTech Fair’ in the Netherlands to showcase its‌ smart farm innovations.

“we will ⁢supply inexpensive and useful sensors to small-scale farms, and in the long term, develop unmanned ⁣solutions‌ for ‍large-scale global farms,” ⁣stated ⁤CEO Cho,outlining the‍ company’s ambitious vision. “We will promote K-smart Farm technology to the world by implementing scenes from science ‍fiction movies in farms.”
