The Blood of Dawnwalker Confirms 60 FPS Performance Mode on Consoles at Launch
Developer Rebel Wolves has confirmed that the upcoming action role-playing game The Blood of Dawnwalker will support a 60 frames-per-second performance mode on consoles at launch, reversing an earlier announcement that sparked criticism from the player community.
According to MondoXbox and Multiplayer, the studio updated its technical specifications to guarantee that a 60 FPS performance option will be available on day one for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X. The reversal follows widespread backlash after initial statements suggested the high frame-rate mode might not make the initial release window, as reported by Tom’s Hardware and The Games Machine.
Console Graphics Modes and Specifications
Technical details published by the studio outline three distinct visual settings for players on capable current-generation systems. According to SpazioGames, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X will each feature a Performance mode targeting 60 frames per second, a Balanced mode targeting 40 frames per second, and a Quality mode targeting 30 frames per second.
According to IGN Italia, both the Quality and Balanced modes utilize dynamic resolution scaling up to 4K. The PlayStation 5 Pro version will also provide overall visual enhancements across the graphics configurations, while specific performance metrics for the Xbox Series S were not detailed by the developer.
Community Feedback and Studio Response
The sudden shift regarding console frame rates came after days of tension between the development team and players. According to SpazioGames, the controversy began when studio representatives stated they could not guarantee a 60 FPS mode would be ready for the game’s debut.

Rebel Wolves subsequently issued a statement on the social media platform X explaining that the Performance mode was already in active development when the initial comments were made. “Venerdì abbiamo risposto alle domande sulle prestazioni console condividendo solo ciò che potevamo garantire con sicurezza al lancio,” the studio stated in the release cited by SpazioGames. “La Modalità Prestazioni era già in cantiere, ma i test non erano ancora conclusi. Semplicemente non ci sentivamo pronti a fare promesse.”
The studio acknowledged that user feedback accelerated their testing schedule. Once internal trials confirmed the stability of the high-performance setting, Rebel Wolves cleared the feature for inclusion in the launch patch.
Background and Release Schedule

The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 3.
