Red Raiders & Jayhawks Set for Primetime Homecoming Clash on FOX
Lubbock, Texas – Texas Tech University’s highly anticipated Homecoming game against the University of Kansas will be nationally televised on FOX, the Big 12 Conference announced Monday. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff on October 11th at Jones AT&T Stadium.
This primetime slot marks the third time this season, and the second consecutive week, the red Raiders (4-0, 1-0 in Big 12 play) will feature in a nationally broadcast evening game. Texas Tech opened the season with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Before returning home too face Kansas,the Red Raiders will travel to Houston this Saturday for a 6 p.m. contest on ESPN.
Demand for tickets to the Homecoming game has been exceptionally high, with Texas Tech Athletics already announcing an advanced sellout. The matchup will be the 26th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Kansas. The Jayhawks haven’t played in Lubbock as a 43-28 Red raider victory late in the 2022 season. Historically, Texas Tech dominates the series, holding a 23-2 overall record against Kansas, including wins in the last four consecutive games and 16 of the past 17 meetings.
Meanwhile, Kansas (3-2) prepares for a 6:30 p.m. game this Saturday at UCF.The Jayhawks are coming off a narrow defeat to Cincinnati,which leveled their Big 12 record at 1-1. Kansas began their conference play with a decisive 41-10 win over West Virginia.
