Jake Bigoni, a 37-year-old Texas man, is currently held in custody without bond after being charged with the murder of his estranged wife, Eliana Bigoni.
Timeline of the Plano Welfare Check and Investigation
The investigation began on the morning of Wednesday, August 12, when a friend of Eliana Bigoni contacted authorities after she failed to appear for a scheduled 8:30 a.m. breakfast. According to an arrest warrant obtained by Fox 4, the friend informed police that the couple was separated and that Eliana had been en route to pick up their two children, aged 2 and 5.
Upon arriving at the apartment, officers encountered Jake Bigoni. Police reported observing a large bloodstain on his shirt, which he claimed was the result of cleaning, according to the official report. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of Eliana’s body in the trunk of a white Hyundai parked in the apartment’s garage. Authorities noted significant trauma to her head and face.
The couple’s two young children were present in the apartment during the incident but were reported unharmed. Jake Bigoni was initially booked on a felony charge of abuse of a corpse before the district attorney’s office elevated the charges to murder.
