The Bulldogs⁢ defeated the Terps, improving their ‌all-time series record ⁣against Maryland ⁢to 4-1.

This defeat marks a shift⁣ for the Terps,⁢ who⁣ entered‌ the tournament riding high on momentum. While the loss doesn’t derail their season, it presents a challenge to‍ their continued growth and ranking. The history between the two programs is limited, with all five meetings taking place at neutral ⁣locations. Maryland’s sole victory in the ‌series occured in 1995,an 87-63 rout that remains the largest margin of victory for either team in the series.

Freshman standout Julian Reese ⁢led the Terps ⁣in scoring, ‍continuing a trend of consistent performance. Despite a strong ⁤effort ‌on the boards, with Maryland securing 14 offensive rebounds to Gonzaga’s 13, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bulldogs.

another Terp freshman, Jamie Adams, is⁤ making his mark nationally, ‍having converted 46 free‌ throws through his ⁢first ⁣seven collegiate games – the most of any freshman in the nation this season.
