LYNCHBURG, VA – The Maryland Terrapins softball team split a doubleheader on Saturday, falling to Toledo 5-2 before rebounding with a victory against Liberty. The Terps now stand at 6-9 on the season.

However, Toledo responded with two-run frames in both the third and fourth innings to secure the win. Bailey Murphy, Caitlyn Cornwell, Sammi Woods, and Penta each recorded multiple hits for the Terrapins.
Following the loss to Toledo, Maryland faced Liberty and secured a victory, improving their record to 6-9. Details of the Liberty game were not immediately available.
The Terps’ next scheduled game is against Liberty on February 21st, concluding their participation in the Liberty Softball Classic.
