TEMPO ITALIA: Rain and Colder Air Ahead of All Saints’ Day
TEMPO ITALIA reported that around ten Italian regions will experience rainfall as high pressure moves toward the Gulf of Biscay and draws in colder air from the east.
Rainfall Distribution and Forecast
The incoming eastern currents will not bring freezing conditions, but rather fresh or cold air that will generate irregular cloud cover and unpredictable precipitation. The affected areas will mainly include the Adriatic regions, the lower Tyrrhenian sector, Sicily—especially the central-eastern sector—and Sardinia. Additional precipitation may also reach Lazio and western Piedmont near the Alpine Arc, where currents crossing the Po Valley encounter the barrier of the Alps.
Friday is projected to be the wettest day of the shift. Subsequent days will remain involved, with Saturday potentially bringing a worsening of conditions between Sicily, Sardinia, and the Ionian regions, followed by Sunday when phenomena could turn strong across eastern Sicily and Calabria. Meanwhile, northern Italy will largely see clear or partly cloudy skies, alongside some haze and fog in the Po Valley and the Padan lowlands due to thermal inversions, though the eastern currents are drier and will prevent very thick fog.

Strong Eastern Winds Trigger Rapid Temperature Drop
Ahead of All Saints’ Day on November 1, Italy will be split in two. Winds from the east will strengthen across the Adriatic regions, the south, much of the peninsula, Sardinia, and Sicily, with rising ventilation also felt in the Po Valley and Alpine regions. A high-pressure maximum exceeding 1040 hPa is expected over the British Isles by Monday.
The meteorological changes will bring a noticeable temperature drop, transitioning various regions rapidly from summer or semi-summer conditions to pre-winter weather noted TEMPO ITALIA. Sardinia and Sicily have peaks between 25°C and 26°C, while maximum temperatures in the Po Valley will drop to around 17°C to 18°C before decreasing further with the incoming colder eastern air.
