Tecno Spark 50 5G: Pixel 10-Inspired Budget Phone Launches at $180
Tecno Mobile launched its new 5G smartphone, the Spark 50 5G, in India on Friday, March 27, mirroring the design language of Google’s Pixel 10. The device, currently available for pre-order on Amazon India, features a distinctive horizontal camera island constructed from 6-series aluminum.
The Spark 50 5G is equipped with a single 50MP rear camera with an f/1.85 aperture and LED flash. Tecno has moved away from Unisoc processors for this model, opting for a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset paired with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The phone does not offer microSD card expansion.
For selfies and video calls, the Spark 50 5G includes an 8MP front-facing camera. The smartphone boasts a 6.78-inch display with an HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, reaching a peak brightness of 560 nits and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
Powering the device is a 6,500 mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging, a significant upgrade from the 6,000 mAh battery and 18W charging found in the previous Spark 40 model. The Spark 50 5G runs HiOS 16, based on Android, though Tecno has not yet detailed its software support commitment.
The Spark 50 5G also features IP64 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification for durability, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 5G connectivity, dual-band WiFi with 4×4 MIMO support, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS.
The Tecno Spark 50 5G is priced at 16,999 INR (approximately $203 USD) for the base 4GB RAM/128GB storage variant, and 18,999 INR (approximately $228 USD) for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage version. We see available in Fantasy Purple, Ink Black, Mint Green, and Champagne Gold color options and will begin shipping on April 3rd via Amazon India.
