Ajax technical director Alex Kroes is bolstering his transfer policy team wiht an external advisor, signaling a strategic shift within the club’s recruitment efforts. The move comes amid scrutiny following recent transfer dealings and aims to refine Ajax’s approach to identifying and securing talent.
The appointment reflects a broader effort by ajax to strengthen its technical staff, with head coach John Heitinga also indicating plans to expand his coaching team. Heitinga recently attempted to recruit Thomas Duivenvoorden, currently an assistant coach at De Graafschap and formerly with Swift Boys, but was unsuccessful. Heitinga expressed a desire to delegate administrative tasks - including field training logistics and completion forms – to free up his time for core coaching responsibilities. “We’re going to see if a staff member will be added,” Heitinga stated. “This is a great time to make that negotiable and to revise the division of tasks. A few extra hands is good to remove things that I am now doing myself…You can also leave that to others.”
