TechFest: Computer History Museum Celebrates Apple’s Birthday with Rare Apple I & More
The Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, will host “TechFest: Happy Birthday, Apple” on March 28, continuing its celebration of the technology giant’s 50th anniversary. The event follows a panel discussion held last week featuring prominent former Apple executives.
Last week’s panel, moderated by David Pogue, included former Apple CEO John Sculley, Chris Espinosa, an early Apple employee, Jon Rubinstein, former Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering and Avie Tevanian, former Senior Vice President of Software Engineering. The discussion also featured surprise appearances from individuals who contributed to Apple’s history, according to reports.
TechFest will offer a range of activities, including the opportunity to interact with vintage Apple computers provided by Retro Roadshow. Attendees can participate in crafting Apple-themed party hats, enjoy music spanning Apple’s 50-year history, and play interactive games. A replica Apple I computer, capable of running ChatGPT, will be showcased by Daniel Kottke, identified as Apple employee number 12, who assisted Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in assembling the original Apple I in 1976.
Admission to TechFest is included with the price of Museum admission. Tickets range from $6.50 to $21.50, with free admission for children aged 0–7.
Ronald Wayne, one of Apple’s lesser-known co-founders, is scheduled to appear at a separate event tonight, according to MacRumors.
