TDK has been named the Title Partner of the 2026 Tokyo E-Prix night race and Official Partner of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season, Formula E announced Tuesday.
The partnership integrates TDK into the racing experience with trackside branding and a digital presence aimed at engaging fans at events and globally. A key component of the collaboration will be providing engineering students with behind-the-scenes access to the electric racing series, offering insight into the technology and engineering involved.
A new digital content series will also be launched, highlighting the connection between TDK’s technologies and the performance demands of Formula E racing. TDK will further serve as the Official Partner of Change. Accelerated. Live Tokyo, Formula E’s thought-leadership summit focused on sustainable mobility and technology.
“We are thrilled to welcome TDK as the Title Partner for the Tokyo E-Prix and Official Partner of the 2025/26 Season,” said Jeff Dodds, Chief Executive Officer of Formula E. “Japan is a spiritual home for automotive innovation, and TDK’s mission to drive societal transformation through technology aligns perfectly with our vision. Their commitment to supporting engineering students also ensures that this partnership leaves a lasting legacy on the future of the industry.”
Noboru Saito, Chief Executive Officer of TDK, stated the partnership “reaffirms its commitment to contributing to [the automotive industry’s] ongoing transformation.” Saito added that TDK aims to be a “trusted and essential partner at the heart of the automotive industry,” particularly in areas of future mobility, vehicle electrification, and data-driven intelligence.
TDK emphasized its existing role in automotive technology, noting that a conventional internal-combustion engine vehicle already contains thousands of TDK products, a number that increases in electric vehicles. The company described mobility as a “cornerstone of TDK’s AI ecosystem” and expressed pride in sponsoring the event in Tokyo.
The Tokyo E-Prix will be a nighttime double-header event on July 25 and 26, 2026, at the Tokyo Huge Sight venue.
The partnership with TDK follows a recent technology partnership formed between TDK and Porsche Motorsport, according to a separate announcement.
