Fort Worth, Texas – The TCU Horned Frogs beach volleyball team will hold its annual Purple &amp. White Scrimmage this Friday, February 13, at 2:15 p.m. At the TCU Beach Volleyball Courts. The scrimmage precedes the team’s defense of its national title by one week.

Admission to the scrimmage is free and open to the public, with the event expected to continue until approximately 6 p.m. The team will utilize the scrimmage as a final preparation opportunity before embarking on its 2026 season.

TCU begins its season at the Canyon Classic in Phoenix, Arizona, facing Arizona State, Grand Canyon, Arizona, and UC Davis over two days. The Horned Frogs’ first home tournament is scheduled for March 6 and 7, hosting Houston Christian, Florida Gulf Coast, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The Horned Frogs enter the 2026 season with significant momentum, boasting a 12-match winning streak and a 60-match home winning streak. They similarly hold a 42-0 record against in-state opponents. This follows a landmark 2025 season where TCU secured its first National Championship and the inaugural Big 12 Championship, completing a three-peat of conference titles.

Since 2020, TCU has established itself as a dominant force in collegiate beach volleyball, amassing the second-most wins in the nation with a total of 174. Excluding the COVID-shortened 2020 season, the program has averaged nearly 33 wins per season this decade. The team’s success builds on a foundation of sustained performance, positioning them as strong contenders in the upcoming season.

The University of Arizona also recently announced its 2026 beach volleyball schedule, including matchups that may intersect with TCU’s competitive landscape. Arizona will compete in several tournaments throughout the spring, preparing for potential encounters with TCU at national events.
