Taylor Swift Will Not Depose in Blake Lively‘s Harassment Suit,Attorney Claims
Taylor Swift will not be appearing for a deposition in the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, according to a statement from the singer’s lawyer. This development comes after Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, asserted in a Sept. 11 letter to the court that Swift “has agreed to appear for deposition” but was unavailable until October 20 due to “preexisting professional obligations.”
The dispute centers on Lively’s December 2024 lawsuit accusing Baldoni, her It Ends With Us costar and director, and his Wayfarer Studios team of sexual harassment and retaliation - allegations Baldoni denies. The case gained further complexity when Baldoni filed a now-dismissed $400 million countersuit, alleging pressure from Swift and Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, regarding a script rewrite. A trial is currently scheduled for March 2026, and Swift’s potential testimony had become a point of contention as the case progresses.
