Taoiseach intervenes as Aontú Leader Raises Concerns in Missing boy Case
Dublin,Ireland – Taoiseach Micheál Martin corrected Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín during a Dáil Éireann exchange today regarding the case of missing boy,Nóra Fintan Gallagher. The correction came after Tóibín raised concerns about alleged delays in Gardaí accessing CCTV footage relevant to the investigation.
During Leaders’ Questions, Tóibín stated that Gardaí were initially refused access to CCTV footage from a local business for a period of time. The Taoiseach responded, clarifying that Gardaí had, actually, received the footage within 24 hours of requesting it, according to information provided to him by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris. Martin emphasized the importance of accurate information being presented, notably in sensitive cases like this one.
Nóra Fintan Gallagher (11) has been missing since last Saturday, September 9th, after last being seen in the vicinity of the Strand Road in Ballyshannon, County Donegal. Gardaí continue to appeal to the public for any information that might assist in locating the boy.
The exchange occured as members of the Oireachtas returned from a two-month summer break, with committees resuming work earlier today adn the Dáil itself reconvening at 2pm for Leaders’ Questions. Security around Leinster House has been heightened for the new term.
