Selvaggi stated it’s common practise for married couples with minor children to name each other as beneficiaries, allowing the surviving spouse to financially care for their children. He further testified that Brian Walshe initially attempted to purchase life insurance policies on himself but was denied due to his guilty plea in a federal case involving the sale of forged Andy Warhol artwork.
“It was probably your proposal that Ana applied because Mr. Walshe was getting denied?” defense attorney Kelli Porges asked.
“Correct,” Selvaggi responded.
The agent also acknowledged he was unaware of any follow-up screenings with Ana Walshe after the policies were purchased in 2021 and was unsure if her original assessment included evaluations for pulmonary, cardiac, or neurological health.
