Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine – Multiple missile strikes hit the city of Zaporizhzhia on Thursday, October 26, 2023, resulting in at least 19 injuries as of 19:59 local time, according to regional officials. The attacks targeted civilian infrastructure, including a bus station and the Zaporizhzhya State Medical University Clinic.
Initial reports at 18:52 indicated 8 casualties, with one individual in serious condition. By 19:19, the number of wounded had risen to 12. The latest update, at 19:59, confirmed 19 injured individuals.
According to Zaporizhzhia City Council Head Anatolii Fedorov, the attacks involved two missile strikes. The first struck the bus station area, while the second impacted the university Clinic of Zaporizhzhya State Medical University. Rescuers are currently working to clear debris, with concerns that individuals may still be trapped.
Medical personnel report that the injured sustained multiple mine-explosive injuries to the limbs, head, and abdominal cavity.Those hospitalized include men aged 24, 38, 39, 41, and 56, and women aged 25 and 77. Their conditions are currently assessed as moderate.
Fedorov further stated that the strikes caused damage to seven apartment buildings and other non-residential properties, resulting in broken windows and roof damage.
