Lehigh Valley Student Selected forโข Statewide Environmental Leadership Program
Harrisburg, PA โค- A โLehigh Valley 12th grader is among the newest cohort of Young Ambassadors of Pennsylvania, aโข program โขdesigned to cultivate the nextโ generation of environmental stewards and civic leaders.โ The student โคwillโข participate โคin training and hands-on projects focusedโ on litter prevention, waste management, and community engagement.
The Young Ambassadors program, a collaboration betweenโข the Pennsylvania โคDepartment ofโฃ Transportation (PennDOT) and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, launched its fourth year thisโข month. Itโ aims to empower high school students to address environmental challenges and promote a cleaner, โmore beautiful commonwealth.Participants, โฃselected from 10th through 12th grades and representing diverse backgrounds, โwill โขdevelop leadershipโ skills andโฃ contribute to local cleanup efforts.
“Restoring and preventing environmental damage means making sure our future leaders have the ecological know-how to make sustainable change happen,” โขPennDOT Secretaryโฃ Mike Carroll said.
Throughout the program, running through May, ambassadors will receive cleanup supplies and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful merchandise. Keep Pennsylvania Beautifulโข will also award scholarships – two $1,000 awards for current seniors and one โฃfor โฃa program alum.
