Guwahati, India – โฃThe Yonex Sunrise BWFโค World Junior Mixed Team Championship commencesโ Monday at the National Center ofโฃ Excellence in Amingaon, with host nation India โฃlaunching its bidโค against Nepal at โค12 โขPM local time.
India, seeded second in the tournament, is grouped โฃwith the United arab โEmirates, Sri Lanka, and Nepal in Group H forโ the Suhandinata Cup – the Mixed Team event. The Mixedโข team Championshipsโ will be โheldโค from October 6 to 11,โค followed by the โฃIndividual Championships for the Eye Level Cup, running from October 13 to 19.
Following the opening โคmatch against Nepal, India will face Sri Lanka on โคOctober 7โค and conclude their group stage โฃplayโ against โฃthe โฃUAE โขon October 8.
This year’s competition will โฃutilize the BWF’s new relay scoring system.Each tie will be contested over three sets, requiringโค a team to reach 45 โpoints to win โa set. Each set features five โmatches – โขBoys’ Singles, Girls’ Singles, Mixed Doubles, โBoys’ doubles, and โGirls’ Doubles – played โuntil a side scores 9 points, with the cumulative score carrying over to the next match. โThe โขfirst team to 45 points wins theโ set, and the tie is decided in a best-of-three format.
By hosting the championships, India becomes one โof a select group of nations – including Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, Spain, and โคChina โ- to have hosted the BWF World Junior Championships on multiple occasions.
