Mazamet responded with four tries from Roques (2 tries), Caminati (12th minute), Lartigue (15th minute), and Daville (64th minute). Caminati also added four conversions.

The score progression reflected a fluctuating contest initially, moving from 0-7 to 7-7, 12-7, 12-14, and 12-21 before Blagnac began to assert control, reaching 19-21, 22-21, and ultimately 25-21. The final stretch saw Blagnac extend their lead to 32-21, 35-21, 42-21, 42-28, and finally 49-28.

Blagnac’s lineup included Vernetti, Vidot, Tardieu, Retegui, Razous, Ballester, B. Alary, Pomarède, Krajeski-Castella, Miguel, Azzi, Seleucid, Berdouzi, Onelei, and Flitti. Substitutions were made throughout the match, bringing in Tolofua, F. Alary, M. Ibanez, Fred, Miguel, Jordana, Muliloto, Brun, and Fricou.
