Bern,Switzerland – August 18,2025 – Facing potential 20 percent budget reductions to the ⁤Federal youth‌ and Sport program slated for 2026,the Swiss sporting world is launching‌ a proactive campaign to ⁤safeguard vital funding for grassroots athletics.‍ Spearheaded by Fabian Kauter,a former fencer and co-founder of⁤ the crowdfunding platform “I Believe in you,” the national⁣ initiative, dubbed “We Close the Gap,” aims to offset ‍the ‌anticipated shortfall and ensure the continued development ‌of young Swiss athletes.

The Threat⁤ to Swiss Youth Sports

Kauter,a five-time World Cup bronze medalist⁤ between 2011 and 2015,voiced ⁤his concerns regarding the potential impact of these cuts on ⁣the foundation of Swiss sport. “It must worry us, because we touch the basis of the pyramid,” Kauter stated during a recent appearance on the Forum program. “It is really the first step in the sports world. And moreover, there is a social side beyond sport. We made friends by practicing sport.”

The Federal Youth and Sport program supports a wide ‌range of initiatives, including sports camps in schools and scouting programs, fostering participation and development at the entry level. Kauter emphasized ‌the program’s broad reach, stating, “We are talking about camps in schools, scouts… This represents a lot of programs that ‌move Switzerland. This is why we have to fight to keep these funds.”

Did You Know? Switzerland has a long and storied tradition of success in winter sports, consistently ranking ⁢among the top nations in events ⁢like skiing and snowboarding. These programs are vital for identifying and nurturing future champions.

“We Close the Gap” ⁣Initiative

the ”We Close the Gap” campaign seeks to mobilize public support and⁢ demonstrate a unified front to⁣ policymakers before crucial discussions in December. The goal is ambitious: to raise 1 million swiss francs. “We ⁣want to find a solution. We want to act,ómico,” Kauter explained. “If we manage in December to collect 1 million with one, 1000, 2000, 3000 people who support the project, it would be fantastic.”

Kauter ⁤clarified that the crowdfunding effort is⁢ not intended as a permanent substitute for public funding but rather as a strategic intervention to mitigate the immediate impact of the proposed cuts. He highlighted‍ the tangible consequences of a 20 percent reduction, stating, ⁤”20% less is a lot. It can clearly question the organization of a camp or an internship. And maybe we will miss the next Loïc Meillard, who also supports our project.”

Pro ‌Tip: Supporting youth sports programs isn’t just about athletic development; it’s an investment in community building, social skills, and overall well-being.

High-Profile Support

The initiative has⁤ already garnered important support from prominent Swiss athletes, including alpine skiing star Marco ⁤Odermatt. Spaniard Martin wins the Indonesian GP and consolidates his position at the top of the championship

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 30, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac) won the Indonesian Grand Prix on Sunday, the 15th round (out of 20) of the MotoGP season, consolidating his leading position in the world championship, while his main rival Francesco Bagnaia ( Ducati) took 3rd place.

On the overheated Mandalika track, Martin, who started from pole position, led from start to finish, and won ahead of the young Spanish driver Pedro Acosta (GasGas-Tech3) and the Italian Bagnaia, his runner-up in the general classification.

Bagnaia, who won the sprint race on Saturday, won here last year.

“Terima kasih! (thank you in Indonesian, editor’s note)”, Martin said after his success, addressing the Indonesian public, motorcycle enthusiasts, before receiving his trophy from the hands of the outgoing President of the Republic, Joko Widodo.

Unhappy the day before when he fell at the start of the 2nd lap before finishing 10th in the sprint, Martin put things back on track and returned to victory, his last success dating back to the French Grand Prix in May.

The Madrilenian now has 366 points in the general classification, compared to 345 in Bagnaia, five events from the end of the season. Each GP victory earns 25 points, 12 for a sprint race victory.

The Italian Enea Bastianini (Ducati), who did not finish, is relegated to 75 points, ahead of Marquez.

“It’s not just a victory,” Martin commented. “After what happened last season (fall, editor’s note), after yesterday’s fall, performing in this way was quite difficult.”

“I have confidence in myself but I thought I was going to fall at every turn. There was a lot of pressure from Pedro (Acosta, editor’s note) so I’m really happy,” added the Pramac driver.

Respectively 3rd and 4th in the general classification, Bastianini and Marc Marquez (Ducati-Gresini) were forced to retire.

The six-time Spanish Moto GP world champion saw the engine of his Ducati GP23 catch fire on the 11th lap.

– First double 10 for the French –

On the 14th lap, Bastianini, who was putting pressure on the leading men, made a mistake. This benefited Bagnaia who gradually moved up from 6th place.

“(It was) a very, very difficult race. I had a lot of trouble at the start. This is the fifth start in a row where we have struggled. We need to improve this area,” reacted the Italian.

“As soon as I got back in front, I was able to attack, but it was too late,” he added.

Of the 21 drivers who started on this circuit with high humidity, set along the turquoise waters of the island of Lombok, only 12 finished. The Spaniard Alex Marquez and the Australian Jack Miller retired from the start in a crash involving two other drivers.

Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), who took 3rd place last year, made it into the Top 10, in 7th place.

“It was cool, I had fun from the 10th lap onwards. We even had the pace to be even closer to the top 5. We will continue to follow the path we chose to improve, even if at Motegi it will be more complicated” declared the 2021 world champion after the race.

The other French driver in the field Johann Zarco, 9th, obtained his best result of the season.

“I’m happy, I was dreading a long race in the heat, but ultimately the weekend went well and I’m happy to have seized the opportunity to confirm the performances glimpsed on Friday” explained the Honda driver, the best ranked in the world championship (17th) of the Japanese brand which will play at home next weekend with the Japanese Grand Prix.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez Makes Waves with Outfit at Paris Fashion Week, Talks About Retirement Plans

written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

“I think it will be ready in a year. Or maybe two years, I don’t know,” Georgina Rodriguez said in a video in English as she spoke to Serbian singer Jelena Karleua about Ronaldo’s retirement. Georgina Rodriguez is the famous Portuguese player’s long-time girlfriend. She recently attended Paris Fashion Week (France) and presented an outfit that surprised viewers with the number 7, Ronaldo’s signature and his name on the chest.

Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez wore outfits that caused a stir on social media

Georgina Rodriguez’s outfit is causing a stir on social networks because on the back there are words that express Ronaldo’s love: “For the love of my life, Gio.” Cristiano Ronaldo”.

Ronaldo has just completed his prison sentence and was banned for one match and fined €1 for inciting rival fans. This famous player will return for Al Nassr in the match against their rivals Al Ain in the AFC Champions League. This is also an important arena for Ronaldo to aim for the first official championship for Al Nassr Club after playing here for two seasons.

In the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo’s club Al Nassr are at the top of the table, trailing their rivals Al Hilal by up to 9 points after 22 rounds. Therefore, Ronaldo’s chance of winning the most prestigious tournament in Saudi Arabian football may once again fail. So far, Ronaldo has only helped Al Nassr win the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023, but this is just a preparatory tournament and is not part of the official system.

Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez at a previous event

Ronaldo has a contract with Al Nassr until the beginning of 2025. The Portuguese player recently announced that his goal is to play until EURO 2024 this summer. After that, we will consider whether or not to extend the contract with Al Nassr before considering the possibility of participating in the 41 World Cup at the age of 2026. Or maybe retire.

In response to this information, Ronaldo fans around the world called on their idol to move on. They also compared this famous player’s opponent, Messi, who is still playing and shows no signs of retiring soon. So Ronaldo has to continue his career.

Dorival Júnior Named New Brazil National Coach: Spicy History with Seleção Superstar Neymar

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 8, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Dorival Júnior is the new national coach of Brazil. The coach has known the Seleção superstar for a long time.

WHAT HAPPENED? The new Brazilian national coach Dorival Júnior and superstar Neymar have a spicy history from their time together at FC Santos.

WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND? In September 2010, Dorival Júnior, as Santos coach, kicked the then 18-year-old Neymar out of the team. The reason for this: In a league game against Goianiense (4-2), Neymar wanted to take a penalty, but Dorival Júnior insisted that the regular shooter Marcel take the penalty.

Neymar, an up-and-coming mega-talent at the time, was angry with the coach, who then suspended him for one game. When Dorival Júnior did not want to consider Neymar in a second game, an important duel with Corinthians, Santos’ club management intervened and quickly dismissed Dorival Júnior.

Neymar was able to contribute against Corinthians and scored a goal, but Santos lost the game 2-3.

THE PICTURES FOR THE NEWS:

Getty ImagesGetty Images(C)Getty Images

A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS: It is not known whether Dorival Júnior, who only trained Santos for a good nine months, still resents Neymar’s story from back then.

After numerous other positions, the 61-year-old has now taken over as Brazil’s national coach. He won’t be able to rely on Neymar for the time being anyway, as the 31-year-old, who is now active at Al-Hilal, is expected to be out until the end of April due to a torn cruciate ligament.

After that, he will almost certainly nominate Neymar again, after all, the former PSG star is one of the Seleção’s most important players. In total, Neymar has 128 international matches so far (79 goals).
