The people of the villages of Al -Jawa, southwest of Al -Ardah Governorate, in the Jazan region, called for the competent health authorities to quickly intervene and provide a gynecologist at the health center of the region, after more than six months have passed since the only doctor who was working in the facility left, without being appointed as a substitute so far.
This long absence was directly reflected on the stopping of the services of the Women’s Clinic, which is one of the most important medical services, especially for pregnant women who need continuous follow -up throughout the pregnancy.

The people explained in their speech that the health center serves more than six thousand people distributed about twenty -five villages, and is considered the only health facility available to them in their geographical scope.
They emphasized that the absence of a gynecologist caused double burdens on families, and many women were forced to review hospitals and private health centers that fall into further ranges, causing families additional financial costs that exceed their capacity, along with the hardship of movement and long distances, which constitute an additional challenge, especially in cases of pregnancy or emergency health conditions.
The residents indicated that their suffering was exacerbated after the decision to include the residents of the villages of โAbu Al -Tenโ to the services of the Al -Jawa Center, after the closure of their health center, which increased the pressure on the current center and it became necessary to provide it with additional medical cadres to keep pace with the increase in the number of residents who benefit from its services.
They stressed that the provision of a gynecologist at the center is no longer only a requirement, but also an urgent health necessity that must be accelerated without delay.
Besides, the people renewed their continuous demands that a dental clinic should be opened in the center, noting that all other health centers of the Al -Ardah Governorate are available in this service except for the Al -Jawa Center, although there is a room designated for the dental clinic present and ready in terms of infrastructure, and it lacks only the provision of medical devices and specialized teams to start working formally.
These demands came during the meeting of the Consultative Council for patients and their families at the Al -Jawa Health Center, which was held this week in the presence of a number of representatives of the parents, where a number of issues and observations were raised on the performance of the center, the most prominent of which was the absence of the gynecologist.
The opening of the dental clinic, the tight parking lots, and the lack of some medical specialties, in addition to emphasizing the importance of activating the dates reservation system through the official channels of the Ministry of Health to facilitate the procedures of the auditors and reduce the crowding.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the director of the health center, Mr. Jubran Haider Khubrani, expressed his appreciation for the participation of the people and their keenness to improve the quality of health services, stressing the importance of such periodic meetings that contribute to the transfer of the health community, and helps to follow the needs and put them within the priorities of development in coordination with the relevant health authorities.
It is noteworthy that the Consultative Council for patients and their families was previously known as the Patient Rights and Treatment Committee, and includes in its membership representatives of the health center and representatives of the villagers, and aims to enhance the quality of health care and improve the patient’s experience in line with the directions of the Ministry of Health towards transparency and community participation in developing services.
