Vanderbilt to host Annual Mason Rudolph Championship, Welcoming Top golf Programs to Franklin
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt Commodores women’s golf โteam will host its prestigious annual Mason Rudolph Championship this Friday at โthe Vanderbilt Legendsโฃ Club โin Franklin,โ Tennessee. โขThe three-day, 54-hole tournament isโ a cornerstone of Vanderbilt’sโ fall season, dating back to its inception in 2001. The Commodores boast a strongโ historyโฃ at the event, having โขsecured victory four times, most recently in 2023.
“Hosting the Masonโ Rudolph Championship is a trueโฃ honor for our program,” saidโฃ Vanderbilt โขHead Coach Greg Allen. “The tournament is named forโ a legend in theโค game, and we’re incredibly proud to carry on his legacy through โขthis event.”
This year’sโข competitiveโฃ field includes 16 universities: โArizonaโค State, Baylor, Clemson, College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisville, Middle โคTennessee State, mississippi State, North Carolina, Richmond, UT-Chattanooga, Western Kentucky, and the โhost Vanderbilt. โ Historically,โค only โคVanderbilt (2023, 2018, 2014, 2002) and Mississippiโฃ State (2022) have claimed the championship title. Arizona State has consistently challenged for the win, finishing as โrunner-up onโ three โฃoccasions.
Coach Allen also highlighted theโ exceptional support of the Vanderbilt Legendsโ Club staff. “We’re thrilled to showcase โฃboth โขthe Legends Clubโข and the beautiful town of Franklin.โค The staff here consistently delivers a first-classโ tournament experience,and thier โdedication is especially appreciated this week following their work on the simmons Bank Open. They โขtruly make our student-athletes feelโฃ special.”
Theโ Commodore lineup features aโ blend โof experienced seniors and promising newcomers. Seniors Tillie Claggett,who finished as the individual runner-up in the 2023 championship,and Lynn Lim will be competing at the Mason Rudolph Championship for the final time in their collegiate careers. Freshmen Elizabeth Rudisill and Kathryn Ha will makeโฃ their tournament debuts, alongside teammate Ava merrill.โ Macie Brown, Jayden Jevnick, Angelina Tolentino, and Sara Imโฃ will compete as individuals.
“We’ve had a productive week of practice,benefiting from the โขSouthโ Course being โขclosed,and we feel well-prepared,” Allenโ stated. “Now it’s about executing our game plan and โcompeting with focus from the first tee to the final putt.”
