The Silence Unknown Callers feature is specifically made to increase user privacy. In addition, this feature will also provide better control over incoming calls.
Its main function is to automatically filter spam, scams, and calls from unknown contacts, in order to provide an extra layer of protection. When enabled, such calls will not disturb the user with ring notifications. Instead, the call will be registered in the WhatsApp Call log, so that the user can check later, if the call is from someone important.

1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone
2. Now open the Settings menu (Settings)
3. Note: To access the Settings menu on Android, tap on the three dot menu icon located at the top right. On iOS, you will find the Settings icon in the lower left corner.
4. After that, tap the Privacy option
5. Now tap on the ‘calls’ option and then select ‘Silence Unknown Callers’.
This function effectively mutes incoming calls from unknown numbers. Therefore, it is advisable to block and report callers if you receive calls from unknown or spam numbers.
