Home chefs in Wasilla, Alaska, will have the opportunity to recreate popular dishes from the recently closed Grape Tap restaurant through a series of cooking classes beginning in March. The classes will focus on three signature menu items, including the Seared Moroccan Scallops and the Grape Tap Greens salad, according to an announcement from the restaurant.
The Grape Tap, located at 322 N Boundary St, Wasilla, was known for its diverse menu featuring items like calamari steaks, herb-roasted duck, and seafood pasta. Reviews consistently praised the restaurant’s service and atmosphere, with customers particularly enjoying the wine flights and dishes like the tenderloin and bacon-wrapped dates. The restaurant offered a “Gathering House” menu in the mornings, providing a casual space for coffee and light meals.
In addition to the Grape Tap classes, cooking instruction is also available through “In the Kitchen with Linda,” offering Italian cooking classes in Wasilla, along with in-home care and meal preparation services.
The Greater Houston Community Center is also hosting a cooking workshop in March, focusing on how to prepare potato soup. This provides an additional option for those looking to expand their culinary skills.
The Grape Tap, which operated as a unique dining experience with a rustic setting, previously offered a private room for special occasions with a minimum purchase requirement. The restaurant received a 4.4 rating based on 144 reviews, with 76% of reviewers giving it a 5-star rating, according to Restaurantji.
