“The conversation touched upon the issue of regional and global problems, specifically the Ukraine-Russia war. President Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s intensive efforts to achieve an end to bloodshed and a stable peace both in Ukraine and in the Palestinian lands,” Erdogan’s administration said on the “X” platform.

“President Erdogan announced that Turkey is ready to play the role of a mediator and hold peace talks to achieve peace in Ukraine,” said a post on the social network.

The Turkish leader also stated that it is important to restore the grain corridor and also indicated that he is continuing diplomatic contacts for this purpose.

Erdogan added that it is “necessary to immediately announce a ceasefire and prepare the way for peace in Ukraine.”

President Zelensky: Ukrainian Army Requests Mobilization of Half a Million People

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com December 19, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Office of the President announced the event yesterday, December 18.

The exact time and place of the press conference was not announced until the start of the event due to security reasons.

The president of Ukraine said that he does not know when the war with Russia will end.

The journalist of “RBC-Ukraine” asked Zelensky if he agrees with the opinion of Western leaders that the war could last a long time and will not end in 2024.

“I don’t think anyone knows the answer, not even our commanders or our Western partners. They don’t. These are just thoughts, and thoughts often differ from reality,” the Ukrainian president said.

The army leadership has asked to mobilize half a million people

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on Tuesday that the leadership of the army had asked for the mobilization of 450,000 to 500,000 people, however, he proposed to develop a plan further to provide for not only the recruitment of new soldiers, but also the demobilization of those soldiers who have been fighting for about two years.

“I said that I need more arguments to support this direction,” Zelensky said at the press conference.

According to his words, justice must be observed in this regard.

“We cannot lose the bravest people, their moral standing,” the president emphasized.

The cost of mobilizing such a number of people is about 500 billion hryvnias (about 12 billion euros).

Zelensky also stated that Ukraine is not losing the war and no one knows how long it will last.

Zelensky also said that “Russia has not won a single victory” and expressed confidence that the United States will eventually make a decision on providing additional aid to Ukraine.

He also noted that the lack of air superiority prevented the Ukrainian army from making much progress during the summer counteroffensive.

At the forum and after it, Ukraine invited producers of armaments and military equipment from all over the world. At the closing of the forum, 38 companies from 19 countries joined the alliance.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced the creation of the Defense Industry Alliance at the forum.

Speaking at a forum in Kyiv, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for Ukraine’s military needs to be met, stating that only courage can stop drones and only heroism can intercept missiles.

Zelensky told forum participants that Ukraine’s priorities at the moment are an air defense shield and demining.

The President emphasized that Ukraine is ready to provide special conditions for companies that want to develop the defense industry together with Ukrainians.

“It will be a mutually beneficial partnership. I think it is a good time and place to create a large military hub,” Zelenskiy admitted.

Ukrainian officials reported that 252 defense companies from more than 30 countries participated in the forum.

During the forum, the Turkish company “Baykar”, which produces combat drones “Bayraktar TB2”, announced the investment of 100 million US dollars (94.4 million euros) in three projects in Ukraine.

The company’s general manager, Haluk Bairaktars, said that the projects include the creation of an unmanned production plant. Its construction has already started, but it is planned to be completed within a year and a half.

Putin Accuses Ukrainian President Zelensky of Covering up Nazi Glorification and Holocaust Denial

Putin Accuses Ukrainian President Zelensky of Covering up Nazi Glorification and Holocaust Denial

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 5, 2023

“It makes the situation extremely disgusting that a Jew is covering up the glorification of Nazism and those who once held the Holocaust in Ukraine. It was the extermination of one and a half million people. And this is best understood by ordinary Israeli citizens. Look at what they say on the Internet,” Putin said.

He did not, of course, specify exactly what the Israelis were saying online.

No evidence has been provided for the claims about Zelensky either.

The Russian dictator has previously resorted to Zelensky’s ethnicity to send unjustified criticism in his direction.

“Apollo.lv” already reported that on June 16, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, dictator Vladimir Putin said that he has many Jewish friends since childhood who allegedly claim that “Zelensky is not a Jew, but a shame of the Jewish people.” .

Putin also said he was baffled “how neo-Nazi rampage can be supported.”

Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Azman responded to the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin in a comment to the correspondent of “Unian”.

“I can personally say that I am proud of President Zelensky, that he did not run away and is doing everything to help the Ukrainian people.

And not only me. I think the whole world is proud of him,” Moshe Reuven Azman said in response to Putin’s yet another propaganda statement about Zelensky.

Ukraine’s chief rabbi also stressed that there are no neo-Nazis in Ukraine. “There are decent people in Ukraine who defend their homeland,” said Moshe Reuven Azman.

“Meduza” media, in turn, published a transcript of what Putin said at the forum. It reads that the dictator also called Ukrainian heroes neo-Nazis.

High Security Summit in Vilnius: World Leaders and Unprecedented Safety Measures

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com July 18, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

In the center of Vilnius, where we are staying, the main central streets are closed to car traffic. Every few minutes, a convoy of cars accompanied by the police pulls up. There is mostly no indication of which country’s dignitaries are in the cars – the only recognizable ones are the presidential vehicles decorated with the flags of the USA and Turkey.

However, the residents of Vilnius watch the movement of these motorcades with great curiosity. In the square near Vilnius’s central cathedral, there is an unusually large number of people for a Monday evening – they gather at the barriers that separate the sidewalk from the driving part, simply hoping to see a recognizable politician getting off at a nearby hotel.

“Black Hawk” overhead and the leaked security protocol

During the summit, Vilnius became one of the safest places in the world. Germany had sent 12 “Patriot” missile systems, Spain – the anti-aircraft defense system NASAMS (which was moved there from Latvia during the summit), while France – self-propelled howitzers “Caesar”. Several countries lent fighter jets and anti-drone systems. During the days of the summit, 4,000 Lithuanian Armed Forces and allied soldiers provided security, while another 12,000 soldiers were ready to be immediately involved in the event of a crisis.

The sky above Vilnius was visible almost all the time

Mysterious Car Crash Involving Sculpture in Terva: Estonian Police Hunts Down 36-Year-Old Man for Investigation

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com July 14, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

“The 36-year-old man who was driving the Ford car has been found, and the police have spoken to him. The exact circumstances of the incident will be clarified in the investigation,” Otomaars Virk, operational manager of the Southern Prefecture of the Estonian Police, told the newspaper.

The newspaper reports that the man was arrested in Terva.

The image from the video surveillance camera shows how on Wednesday at 6.08 a gray car drives past the sculpture from the side of Valga. Moments later, the same car, traveling from the opposite direction, crashes into a sculpture depicting Zelensky as part of the Statue of Liberty in New York.

The lower part of the sand sculpture was damaged, but the car’s front bumper and the side of the engine cover were damaged.

The 36-year-old Estonian citizen, who was driving a “Ford” car with a Finnish registration number, fled the scene.

Alcohol was found in the abandoned car, so the police assume that the driver might have been under the influence of alcohol.

Marianna Soka, the press representative of the municipality of Terva, said that it is planned to restore the sculpture in consultation with the author.
