Jordan Walker joins Vilnius Rytas, Bringing Scoring Prowess

Jordan Walker, a dynamic American guard, has officially signed with Vilnius Rytas, bolstering the Lithuanian club’s roster for the upcoming season. Sports Director Artūras Jomantas expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition,highlighting Walker’s ability to initiate offense and create scoring opportunities for his teammates.
“Jordan is a player who can take the initiative and set up a team attack,” jomantas stated. “He has not only a good throw from afar, but also the ability to create opportunities for teammates.We needed a person who could decide the match with individual craftsmanship. We look forward to his debut and work with the team eagerly.”
Last season, Walker showcased his scoring talent with Patras Promitheas BC Vikos Cola in the FIBA Champions League. In seven games,he averaged 23.1 points, ranking second in the league for scoring. He also contributed 4.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. his shooting percentages were impressive: 42.3% from two-point range, 46% from three-point range, and a remarkable 93.9% from the free-throw line.
Walker’s individual brilliance was on full display in a game against Galatasaray, where he scored 19 points in just three minutes. In the playoffs, he achieved a career-high 54 points, along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists, in a game against Fit/One Wurzburg Baskets. This performance set a new league record for the 2023-2024 season.
“I have heard many good things about this organization – its professionalism, a great team of coaches, players, and most importantly, amazing fans,” Walker commented. “I have never played for a team with such a large crowd of supporters. I have always had to play in away games where the rivals had more fans.”
Walker began his collegiate career at the University of Seton Hall before transferring to Tulane University and then the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). At UAB, he was named Conference USA Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in 2022, becoming only the second player in the university’s history to achieve this distinction.He also set a UAB single-game scoring record with 42 points.
Professionally, Walker started in the NBA G League with the Texas Legends. He then played for Osos de Manatí in Puerto Rico and the Hong Kong Bulls before moving to Europe to play for Promitheas BC Vikos Cola in the 2023-2024 season.
