MINEDUC Unveils 2025 School Calendar: Key Dates and Holiday Periods
The Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) has officially announced the 2025 school calendar, outlining start dates, holiday periods, and planning deadlines across regions.This thorough schedule ensures educational establishments can organise academic activities without compromising the curriculum.
When Classes Begin and Holiday Periods
In most of the country, including the Metropolitan Region, the school year will kick off on Monday, March 3, with teachers attending a planning day the following day. Students, from prekinder to middle school, will begin classes on Wednesday, March 5, alongside young adults enrolled in school education programs.
The first semester will conclude on Tuesday, June 17, followed by evaluation and planning days on June 18 and 19. Winter holidays will run from june 23 to July 4,with classes resuming on Monday,July 7.
Fourth-year students will wrap up their school year earlier, finishing on November 24, while other levels will conclude on December 5 for full-time schools and December 19 for others.Young adults will end their academic year on November 21.
Quarterly Education Calendar
Schools operating on a quarterly system will also start on March 3, with students beginning classes on March 5.The first semester will end on May 29, followed by a planning day on May 30.The first winter break will span June 2 to June 6, with the second semester starting on June 9 for those opting for quarterly breaks.
For schools choosing semiannual winter vacations, the second semester will begin on June 2, with a recess from June 23 to july 4. Classes will resume on July 7.The second semester will conclude on September 11, with a planning day on September 12. Schools with two winter breaks will have their second recess from September 15 to 19, returning to classes on September 22.
The school year’s closing dates for quarterly establishments align with those of semiannual schools.
