Center Parcs Sees โคRecord โฃSummer Occupancy as “Coolcation” Trend Gains Momentum
Germany – center Parcs enjoyed a remarkably successful summer season in Germany, with occupancy rates averaging 93% across its parks โ- a 2% increase year-over-year.โ The strong performance is attributed to recent accommodation upgrades andโ a growing shift in travel preferences towards cooler โclimates, a trend dubbed the “Coolcation.”
The “coolcation” phenomenon seesโ travelers, notably families and seniors, increasingly opting for destinations โขin countries like Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia to avoid the escalating temperatures impacting much of Southern Europe. A recentโข report by the “Vacation Guru” web portal highlighted this preference for more moderate weather.
German parks led the way, with Hochsauerland Park โachieving a 95% occupancyโฃ rate and Park Eifel closeโ behind โคat 94% during the peak holiday period โfromโค mid-July to โthe end of August.
Beyond its established German presence, Center Parcs is expanding. The newly opened Center Parcs Nordborg Resort in Denmark, launched โon June โ20th, also experienced a highly โฃsuccessful debut, reaching 92% occupancy in August with guests staying an โขaverage of 6.75 days.
“This is an unusual success in aโ new market with a new product,” stated Frank Daemen, Managingโ Director of โCenter โคParcs Germany. “Our record results once again show that our โconcept of vacation surrounded by nature offers exactly what modern families are looking for.”
Looking ahead, โขCenter Parcs reports continuedโ strong bookings forโ the autumn months, signaling sustained โขdemand for its nature-focused holiday โexperience.
