Cycling Team Shifts Gears: Israel-Premier Tech to Become NSN Cycling Team
BARCELONA - the Israel-Premier Tech cycling team will undergo a significant transformation, rebranding as the NSN Cycling Team starting in 2026. The decision follows repeated disruptions during the Spanish Vuelta, where the team faced protests, and exclusion from an Italian race.
The team’s operations will relocate to Spain, establishing a base in both Barcelona and Girona, a well-known training ground for professional cyclists. This move is facilitated by a new partnership with international sports and entertainment company NSN (Never Say Never) and swiss-based investment platform Stoneweg, who are taking over the team’s structure.
NSN was co-founded by former professional soccer player Andres iniesta, who amassed nearly 700 appearances for Barcelona and 131 caps for the spanish national team, captaining Spain to victory in the 2010 FIFA World cup.
“This new era marks a significant milestone in the growth of the team and an chance to join forces with organizations united by shared values of ambition, excellence, and the drive to inspire through sport,” NSN stated in a press release.
Kjell Carlström will continue to serve as the cycling team’s general manager. “We are proud to welcome NSN and Stoneweg to the team and announce our new name and identity,” Carlström commented.
The team previously experienced protests during the Spanish Vuelta earlier this year, with demonstrators objecting to their participation. Spanish government estimates placed over 100,000 people on the streets of madrid during the final stage of the race.
Israel-Premier Tech’s title sponsor,Premier Tech,is a multinational company headquartered in Quebec,Canada, and the team is also co-owned by Israeli Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams.
