Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump visited by Lex Fridman hosted a podcast that discussed many topics, including Pentagon UFO footage. In an interview lasting about an hour, Trump commented on the disclosure of UFOs and related documents. UFOs, i.e. unidentified flying objects, are also referred to by the more official designation UAP (unidentified anomalus phenomena).

– Many people are very interested in material filmed about UFOs. The Pentagon has released a few videos, and there have been isolated reports from fighter pilots. “That’s why a lot of people want to know if you’re going to help pressure the Pentagon to release more footage that a lot of people claim is available,” Fridman asked Trump.

Trump answered briefly.

– Yes, of course, I will do it. I’d love to do that. I have to do it, Trump replied.

Trump also mentioned that he has received a lot of pressure to release documents related to the death of assassinated ex-president John F. Kennedy.

In 2023, the National Security Subcommittee of the US Congress heard, among other things, a former military intelligence officer David Gruschiawho claimed that the country’s administration was hiding information about UFOs. The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has denied his claims. According to Grusch, the US administration has been aware of “inhumane” activity since the 1930s.

The Mirror magazine says in its news that Trump has talked about UFOs before. In June, Trump visited Logan Paulin podcast and said that other planets “might have life,” but noted that he doesn’t directly believe in UFOs.

– But I’ve met serious people who say that there are really strange things flying around.

Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris mistakenly called himself a late Democratic member of the House of Representatives for president Sheila Jackson Leen in the eulogy.

– Sheila Jackson Lee’s bill made Juneteenth a federal holiday. As a United States Senator, I was proud to co-sponsor this bill. And then as president… as vice president, it was an honor to stand as president Joe Biden with Sheila Jackson Lee by his side as the president signed her bill into law, Harris said, quickly correcting his mistake.

The slip caused laughter and applause in the audience. Harris was also quite amused by his mistake.

Harris’ campaign has gotten off to a flying start, and the Democratic Party quickly rallied behind him after Biden gave up his candidacy. On Friday, Democrats announced that Harris had received enough votes from the Democratic delegates to win the party’s presidential nomination.

Harris has said that he will officially accept the party’s nomination next week.

Jackson Lee served as a member of the House of Representatives from Texas from 1995 until his death. He was known especially as an opponent of violence against women and as an advocate of tightening gun laws and public health care.

In his eulogy, Harris praised Jackson Lee as a “force of nature” and mentor.

– He always expected all of us to strive for excellence, knowing that life is too short and that there is too much to do, Harris said according to AP.

Jackson Lee died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 74 on July 19.
