Dr.Garcรญa โฃFreire, head of Urology at CHUS, revealed the scope of the department’s โwork, performing between 200 and 250 radical prostatectomies annually, alongside approximately 680 transrectal biopsies and 340 MRI-guided fusion biopsies. Theseโ fusion biopsies, utilizing advanced imaging, boast โขa detection rate of 60 to 65%.
Currently, the service provides follow-up โฃcare for 80 to 100 patientsโ eachโข week, while together treating other urologicalโ cancers, including those โคaffecting the bladder and kidneys. โ โ
