SA Rugby Talks Stall Over Springboks‘ Release as URC Teams’ Demands Revealed
negotiations โbetween SA Rugby and United Rugby Championship (URC) clubs have reportedly โstalled regarding the โrelease of โSpringbok players forโค upcoming Testโฃ matchesโฃ againstโค Japan and Wales. โคWhile โขSpringbok โplayers contracted to Japanese clubs will be available for both fixtures, despite them falling outside the โฃofficial international window, a significant number of URC-based players face potential unavailability.
Springbok coach Jacques โฃNienaber intends toโฃ use the match against Japan, atโ Wembley Stadium next week, โto provide playing timeโ for Japan-based players returning from โฃa break since โthe Rugby โChampionship and to facilitate the return of injured players to โฃTest rugby.
