longtime screenwriter Santiago Amigorena and iconic actor Zinedine soualem – creative partners for over thirty years – joined Klapisch, along wiht the cast of his newest film, “Colors of Time.” The award recognized a career consistently focused on international perspectives.

Unifrance launched the French Cinema Award in 2016 to honor individuals who’ve championed French cinema globally. Previous winners include Isabelle Huppert, Juliette Binoche, Virginie efira, and filmmakers Olivier Assayas, Rebecca Zlotowski, and Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano. But Klapisch does more than just showcase his films internationally; his work embodies movement and global connection. This is especially clear in the beloved “spanish Apartment” series, which spans three films and an Amazon series, following a large group of people across three continents.
